Those who follow me on Twitter or ever take a peek at the armory info on the sidebar have noticed an interesting development in recent days. Grim, the stalwart cow has become…a space goat? Yes…it’s true. I made the move of Grim (along with several other toons) and picked Draenei for the racial JC and the self-heal (and because I can’t stand the way humans look!).
Since I’ve moved him, I’ve run enough dungeons to replace his 4 pieces of T8 with 4 pieces of T9 as well as a new ring, and upgraded his bracers as well. The new guild (with raids led by my former raid leader – a big draw for me) had a ToC25 run on Sunday, which I participated in and got a new BS recipe from. Just barely missed out on a Trophy…but really, I was just stoked to be there. And yes, despite the fact that at the time I was only in 2T9, I was second in damage and eighth on DPS. Really can’t complain about any of that.
I’ve had a ton of experiences with the new LFG tool (on a variety of characters, including my healer), and while I generally like it, last night I had an experience that really turned my stomach. I was on my feral (kittah) druid, and ended up in a H Gundrak run with 2 people from my server (and they were in the same guild, what I thought was an RP guild), and 2 people from a guild on another server. If you saw my tweet last night with the link to WoW Jackass, you got the full monty of information, but the TL:DR version is I had a huntard in group who rolled need on inappropriate gear, including the Hemorraghing Circle. Maybe I shouldn’t be upset or surprised given that player has +int and +stam enchants (hello, n00b), but I would have at least thought her guildmate would have apologized for her behavior. Maybe I’m just expecting too much…
Beyond that frustration…I’ve been pretty happy on Alliance side, and Grim is scheduled to raid several times this next week, at least tentatively. It feels good to get back raiding again, and feels good to be under a raid leader who runs his raid like a well-oiled machine.

Those who read this site with any degree of regularity will be aware that a large portion of my WoW existence revolves around raiding on Grim. Or, perhaps better stated, it did. To explain…
My guild lacks the necessary members (at least in terms of those who consistently sign up) to do 25 man content. Thus, we are primarily a 10-man guild, and for quite a stretch, we were one of the better 10 man guilds on the reams. While I wouldn’t classify us as hardcore (screaming, rigid execution, etc)…we’re not casual either. We are definitely progression, but to progress, you need to keep moving forward…
…and herein lies the problem. We’ve stopped moving forward, and instead are moving backwards. We went from a point where we were 8 or 9 manning the easy modes of everything before Mimi and were taking shots at Yoggy…to having issues even getting past the watchers (on the currently open run [extended from last week], the watchers are STILL up). For someone like me, who has spent a great deal of time (and gold!) trying to make myself the best I can be, it’s frustrating.
It’s even more frustrating when people claim burn out to avoid playing the characters they’ve already geared up so that they can gear up another character. Particularly when said other character is using green gems and is only marginally enchanted. Given that general disrespectful attitude, I’ve made the decision to put my raiding on hold – at least for now, and at least with this guild.
In the meanwhile, I’ve been leveling up a Mage – not because I have any burning desire to play a mage, but because in my readings of Greedy Goblin, I’ve come to the conclusion that bags would be an excellent market to tap into on my server. I’ve already got a good hold on the Chaotic Skyflare market.
But…this is a large part as to why there is only been a limited amount of posting on here. I feel like I don’t have a lot to contribute when I’m not playing Grim with any degree of regularity, and despite my love of my DK, I don’t see that changing any time soon.
Hopefully that will change, but only time will tell.
