With just 2 days before we take on Naxx, Grim finally broke through the “uncrittable” cap, and did so before even achieving revered with the Argent Crusade.  I got that tonight (along with Silver-Plated Battlechest from Utgarde Pinnacle), and doing so allowed me to balance Grim out a bit better. I replaced 2 Thick Autumn Glows with a Regal Twilight Opal and a Defender’s Twilight Opal. The other tank in the guild has significantly more health still, but I’m sure that’ll resolve itself over time.  Though the armory link in the sidebar usually correctly reflects Grim’s armor, the image to the right reflects just how the enchants and such he has reflect his stats. (edited to add: the capture was taken in blood presence, not frost.  I’ll update that next chance I get!)

Speaking of UP, that was another fun instance, and one I hadn’t yet experienced.  That we got to do that with Grim tanking was just an added bonus, and another oppertunity for more experience.   We wiped on Skadi the Ruthless our first try when our healer died. Grim held on for quite a bit (heal pot, heal stone, rune tap, and death strike), but it wasn’t enough. The second go, I was worried we weren’t even going to make it to Skadi, since on the gauntlet run to him I got separated from the rest of the group (damn ice!) – but the other DK in the group was able to switch to frost and take care of the ones I couldn’t taunt/death grip over to me.

The more we do this, the more I’m convinced that Unholy Tanking is viable, and that the build I’m using works.  It may not be perfect, but we’ll find out one way or another in Naxx, I’m sure.
